Join local members and guests of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada in celebrating Fall Astronomy Day and International Observe the Moon Night. We start with the Moon’s craters and mountain peaks, Jupiter’s cloud belts and four moons, and Saturn’s magnificent rings. Later we will visit the star clusters and nebulae of the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy and its neighbours, the ever-popular ET cluster, and other gems of the night sky. If it is cloudy we will try again on Sunday, October 6.
As with all park events, this is offered free of charge by J.D. Irving, Limited. Don’t forget to bring a mug for hot chocolate, and bring an extra layer or two as the park can get chilly at this time of year.

Questions? Call the park at (506) 653-7367.

Irving Nature Park, situated directly on the shores of the Bay of Fundy in Saint John, New Brunswick – IS CANADA’S FIRST ‘URBAN STAR PARK ?

Irving Nature Park has been great for local astronomy and has made the Park and staff available for many events, among them the annual Moonlight Snowshoe Walk. Leading into the Park is also the site of Saints Rest Beach, where astronomers quite often set up to join Chris Curwin of Astronomy by the Bay.
